In the academic year 2022, the IIULER is going to launch a specialized bridge course of 1 year and 2 years for Indian students holding 3 year and/or 4 year foreign Law degrees from UK, USA, Australia and other countries in order to bring their law degrees to a parity with the Indian Pattern of pursuing a law degree, which is class 12 plus 3 years of graduation, followed by 3 years of law degree and/or class 12 plus 5 years of integrated law degree. The students who have obtained a foreign law degree and have a deficiency of 1 year or 2 years as compared to the Indian pattern of pursuing a law degree, shall be offered such specialized Bridge Course, and upon successful completion of the Bridge Course, they shall be equipped to sit for the Qualifying & Equivalence Examination for Indian Nationals Holding Foreign Law degrees conducted by the Bar Council of India and upon passing the same exam their foreign law degrees shall be equated to a corresponding law degree offered by an Indian University recognized by Bar Council of India. The emphasis of the Bridge course will be on teaching the core papers prescribed by the BCI.
IIULER, Goa would be the exclusive Institution offering bridge courses, Separate classes would be held for the bridge courses and they shall not be clubbed with course classes of the integrated law degree courses.
